The CHJL Alumni Network

A Constellation of Liberatory Coaches

We are more than a network. We are a constellation of kinfolk comprised of BIPOC, queer, disabled, and working-class movement healers, trained in the 9-Month Liberatory Coach Certification Program, the only offering of its kind rooted in ancestral wisdom, radical love, and the audacious belief that another world is not only possible but already being born.

Here, we orient ourselves to movement through a Liberatory Coach approach. With our hands dipped in ancestral wisdom and eyes fixed on Transformative Futures, we carve liberatory pathways into organizing, relating, dismantling, and surviving oppressive systems. Program participation at CHJL invites us to eclipse the episodic and often transactional realm of professional development industries. Some of us coach professionally; most of us weave these skills into the quiet revolutions of daily life: managing nonprofits without replicating harm, navigating medical violence with sacred rage, harnessing joy and Self-leadership for the revolution, or daring to rest in a world that profits from our exhaustion.

We Are A Constellation

Isolation is unnatural. We are made for connection, like rivers to the ocean, roots to the soil, and stars to the sky. Kinship strengthens our resilience. Our connections beyond the nine-month program help us remember and practice being good relatives in right-relationship to ourSelves and one another. To become good ancestors, we must simultaneously tend to Self, each other, and the future we envision.

Here, we:

Gather in person at our biannual |RE|UNION. Through grief rituals, coaching sessions, embodiment practices, creative expression, and collective rest, we deepen the connections made in our nine-month virtual container, expand relationships across cohorts, share stories and meals, and live into the liberated future now.
Hold sacred space in our CHJL Alumni Network Collaborative, a digital hearth for whispered dreams and shouted truths.
Sharpen our tools in bi-monthly Coaches Circle community calls where we grapple with real-time challenges from responding to social crises to navigating grief and burnout.
Deepen our skills practices through Continuing Education Courses, where CHJL Mentors guide us in coaching as alchemy and ancestral technology—honoring the past and delivering us to the future, whole.

This is how we steward liberation: not as lone stars, but as a constellation remembering its name.

What makes this community extraordinary isn’t just the programs; it’s what blooms beyond them. Alumni enter as individuals and leave woven into a living tapestry of kinship. No waiting for formal invitations: program participants naturally call on one another as thought partners, coaches, and friends, bound by a shared language of liberation and the trust forged in the 9-Month Deep Dives, Group Mentoring Calls, and Afterparties.

A Biannual Gathering of CHJL & CFT Program Participants, Mentors, and Trainers

Our biannual gatherings are where Liberatory Coaching transcends theory—where alumni, mentors, and movement kin reunite to practice freedom in real time.

At |RE|UNION 2023 in Los Angeles, 70 Liberatory Coaches planted seeds of collective possibility through ritual, connection, and radical joy.

This May at |RE|UNION 2025, we turned inward to explore EMBODIMENT as sacred presence and SELF as sovereign awareness.
